Melissa Sullivan

Having been born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, Melissa is proud to be fluently bilingual. She obtained a specialized Bachelor of Arts in Law and Justice with honours from Laurentian University in 2011. She then moved to New Brunswick where she completed her Juris Doctor degree at l’Université de Moncton. While in law school, Melissa plead in several mooting competitions, including the Gale Cup in Toronto, Ontario, as well as the McKelvey Cup which is the Atlantic regional competition of the Sopinka Cup, Canada’s national trial advocacy competition. Melissa was called to the bar in 2015 and practices at the law office of Michel & Vincent Law in Sudbury, Ontario. Her primary areas of practice include: Family Law, Wills & Power of Attorney, as well as Real Estate.
Melissa is very involved within the Greater Sudbury community and sits on various boards. She was a Director on the board “Caisse populaire Vallée Est limitée”, and participated in meetings on a provincial level. She was also President of the Northern Youth Services Board, Secretary of the board “La Nuit sur l’étang”, and Vice President of the Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee with respect to the 2018 municipal elections. Melissa has taught classes as a sessional lecturer at Laurentian University, and has also coached high school students in the local mock trial competition. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys reading, painting, scrapbooking, camping and fishing.
Melissa is glad to be engaged in collaborative practice, as she believes that the outcomes reached are longer lasting and more satisfying for clients than those imposed during traditional litigation in an adversarial context.
